Procurement team training, for teams of 2 to 220 people
Procurement Tactics is a procurement training provider. We train the whole function, not one person at a time. You choose the learning paths, we run the programme, and your managers get a dashboard showing who is progressing and who has stalled.
- Price
- EUR 1,625 per person, per year. Above 10 people we quote the programme.
- Start date
- 7 days from agreement to accounts live for the whole team.
- Time needed
- ~10 hours per person, completed in 2 to 5 weeks.

Built for procurement directors, CPOs, heads of procurement, and the L&D partners who buy on their behalf. We have trained more than 200 procurement teams.
Where teams start
Which of these is your team?
Most teams come to us in one of five situations. If one of these is yours, the programme below is built for it.
A tactical team that needs to become strategic
Your buyers process requisitions, chase deliveries and negotiate on price at the end of a decision made without them. The gap is not effort, it is method: category strategy, spend analysis, stakeholder influence and structured negotiation preparation.
Path: Strategic sourcing and category management
A newly created procurement function
Someone has just been asked to build procurement from nothing, often out of finance or operations. No process, no template library, no shared vocabulary. The first need is a common foundation across the whole team, before habits set.
Path: Foundations, then category management
A team with Copilot licences nobody uses
The organisation bought AI licences. Your team uses them to tidy up emails. Nobody owns how AI is used, which data goes into it, or what good output looks like in a tender or a negotiation preparation.
Path: AI in procurement
A team that has outgrown the basics
Experienced buyers who have done the introductory courses and the CIPS modules, and who are bored by anything starting at first principles. They need advanced category management, cost modelling, e-auctions and negotiation under real pressure.
Path: Advanced category management and negotiation
A new head of procurement building from scratch
You have inherited a team with uneven capability and no baseline. Before you can build a development plan you need to see, per person and per skill, where the gaps actually are.
Path: Assessment first, then role-based paths
The rollout
How a team programme runs, step by step
This is the standard rollout. The timings below are what we work to, not a best case.
Before anything starts
Director session
One session with you, before your team sees anything. We agree what the programme is for, which roles follow which paths, what the assessment should measure, how the progress dashboard is set up, and what you want to evaluate at the end. This session shapes the programme. It is not a sales call.
Week 1
Skills assessment
Your team takes the T-shaped Procurement Assessment. Free, 15 minutes, results immediately. For a team assessment we customise it and you set the target skill level for every skill, per role. You get spider charts showing where each person and the team sits against the levels you set, so the gaps are visible before a single course starts.
Within 7 days of agreement
Accounts live
Your team is set up on the platform with their learning paths already assigned. If you want the courses inside your own LMS or LXP over SCORM, we set that up here.
Live session 1 of 2
Kick-off with the team
We set expectations, explain how the paths map to their roles, and connect the material to the categories and suppliers they actually work on. Virtual by default. We can deliver it at your offices on request, including internationally, at additional cost.
2 to 5 weeks
Guided self-paced learning
Around 10 hours per person for a typical programme, with individual courses running 4 to 10 hours of study time each. Your team fits it around the working week, with a personal coach and the practitioner community available throughout. How long it takes depends on how many hours per week your team can protect.
Running throughout
Manager dashboard
You see course starts, completion percentage, time spent and assessment scores, per person and per team. The dashboard exports, so it goes into your own reporting without being retyped. You do not have to ask us who has stalled.
Live session 2 of 2
Wrap-up and evaluation
The team closes out the programme and we review against what you set in the director session. Learners who complete a course receive a certificate.
3 to 6 weeks Typical elapsed time for a 20 person team, agreement to wrap-up, at about 10 hours of learning per person.
Delivery
Three ways we deliver
Most teams take the standard programme: self-paced learning wrapped in two live sessions. The other two formats exist for teams that need more contact time.
Self-paced online courses
The core of every team programme.
- Who it suits
- Any team size, from 2 people to 220, including teams spread across time zones.
- Group size
- No limit
- Where
- Online on our platform, or inside your own LMS or LXP over SCORM.
- Duration
- 4 to 10 hours of study time per course. About 10 hours per person for a typical programme. 23 certificate courses and 54 templates included.
Custom workshops
Available alongside a team licence, never on their own.
- Who it suits
- Teams that want to work on their own categories, suppliers and live negotiations, over and above the two live sessions included as standard.
- Sold with
- Course access only. We do not sell standalone workshops. A workshop on its own does not change how a team works once everyone is back at their desk, so we do not offer one.
- Group size
- Your team
- Where
- Virtual by default. On site at your offices on request, including internationally, at additional cost.
- Duration
- Half day or full day, priced on top of the team licence.
Boot camps
Learning that ends in something your team has built.
- Who it suits
- Teams that need the learning to turn into a deliverable they can defend in front of their colleagues.
- Group size
- Your team
- Where
- Hybrid. Live sessions with online learning in between.
- Duration
- To confirm A live opening session, then self-paced online learning, then a closing live session where every team member presents their own deliverable to the rest of the team. That last session is the point: people implement what they learned and see how colleagues applied it.

Rolling out to 50, 100 or 200 people
The largest programme we have run so far was 220 people across multiple countries. Here is how we did it, and how we would do yours.
Phased cohorts by region
We do not put 200 people through one kick-off. On the 220 person rollout we ran it in three phases, so each country closed out with a review relevant to the market that team buys in.
Buying through a formal tender
We take part in formal tenders regularly and are set up to complete vendor questionnaires. Send the documents to [email protected] or call +31 6 43109217, and we will work to your timetable and your format.
- Languages
- All course video is natively in English, with subtitles in every language we support. On request we can produce the audio in other languages.
- Your systems
- LMS and LXP integration, and SCORM. Run the courses inside your own environment and still get the progress dashboard.
- Reporting
- Starts, completion percentage, time spent and assessment scores, per person and per team. Exports into your own reporting.

FAQ
Questions procurement buyers ask
What does it cost?
EUR 1,625 per person per year. Team plans start at EUR 3,250, which is two seats. Above 10 people we quote the programme. On-site delivery, additional custom workshops and audio localisation are priced separately. Payment is by invoice, settled by bank transfer within 30 days.
How is this different from CIPS?
CIPS is a professional body offering a qualification pathway that individuals study for over months or years, with exams. We are a training provider that upskills an existing team in weeks against the skills you decide matter.
A typical programme is about 10 hours per person over 2 to 5 weeks, with your own dashboard on progress. Many of our clients have CIPS qualified people in the team already and use us for capability the qualification does not cover, such as AI in procurement or preparing a specific category strategy.
Does this work for a team with no procurement background?
Yes. That is one of the most common situations we are brought into, usually a newly created function or a team that has grown out of finance or operations. The foundations path starts from first principles with Junior Procurement Management, then moves into category management once the team shares a vocabulary and a process.
Why not just use LinkedIn Learning or Coursera?
Those are general catalogues where the learner picks something and nobody checks. You get paths assigned by role, a skills assessment with target levels you set, two live sessions with your team, a learning consultant and a dashboard showing who has stalled. The content is written for procurement by procurement practitioners, not adapted from a general business course.
Can you deliver on site?
Yes, on request and at additional cost, including internationally. Live sessions are virtual by default because that is what most distributed teams prefer and it removes travel from the timeline. If you want the kick-off, the wrap-up or a custom workshop delivered at your offices, we will come to you.
What if people do not finish?
You will know before it becomes a problem, because the dashboard shows starts, completion percentage and time spent per person from day one. The two live sessions create fixed dates that pull the self-paced work forward, and a dedicated learning consultant follows up. The most common reason for non-completion is that nobody protected the time, which is why the director session sets an expected weekly commitment up front.
How quickly can we start?
Yes. We support LMS and LXP integration and SCORM. You can run the courses inside your own environment and still get the progress dashboard on our side, or export the completion data into your reporting.
Can we buy through a formal tender?
Yes. We take part in formal tenders regularly and are set up to complete vendor questionnaires. Send the documents to [email protected] or call +31 6 43109217 and we will work to your timetable and your format.
Is the training accredited?
Yes. Procurement Tactics is accredited by IFPSM, the International Federation of Purchasing and Supply Management, through PAS accreditation. Learners receive a certificate on completing each course.
Can we buy a workshop on its own?
No. Workshops are available alongside a team licence, not as a standalone purchase. A single workshop rarely changes how a team works once everyone is back at their desk, so we only run them as part of a programme with course access behind them.
How do we measure the return on the investment?
Three measures, agreed in the director session before the programme starts. The skills assessment gives a baseline per person against target levels you set, and can be re-run afterwards to show movement. The dashboard gives completion, time spent and assessment scores, exportable into your own reporting. And you name the commercial outcomes the programme is for, for example negotiation preparation quality on a specific category, which we review in the wrap-up.
Can we pilot first?
Not as a paid pilot cohort. Instead we give directors a trial account with 4 hours of access to the real course material, so you can judge the content before committing a team. Teams under 10 people can also start small and extend the licence.
What languages do you deliver in?
All course video is natively in English with subtitles available in every language we support. On request we can produce the audio in other languages. Live sessions are delivered in English.
Can you handle a team of 100 or more?
Yes. The largest rollout we have delivered was 220 people across several countries, run as regional cohorts: online kick-off per region, self-paced learning, then wrap-up sessions per country. Above 10 people we scope and price the programme rather than selling seats at list price.
Does it integrate with our LMS?
Yes. We support LMS and LXP integration and SCORM. You can run the courses inside your own environment and still get the progress dashboard on our side, or export the completion data into your reporting.
Can we speak to your clients?
Yes. We support LMS and LXP integration and SCORM. You can run the courses inside your own environment and still get the progress dashboard on our side, or export the completion data into your reporting.
